Northwestern region in Hanoi

Sixty paintings about the people in the northwestern region are on display at an exhibition by ten painters at 16 Ngo Quyen street, Hanoi.

Opened on April 14, the exhibition is a report about a trip to the northwestern region by ten painters in late 2007, early 2008.

The exhibition introduces paintings about landscapes and people in the remote northwestern area, places like Dien Bien, Son La, Nghia Lo, Muong La, Muong Lay, and Mu Cang Chai.

Painters had to climb up mountains for hours to reach remote villages of ethnic minority groups. Through this journey, they saw the hard life of ethnic people and impressive landscapes of the northwestern region and described what they saw in these 60 paintings.
