Vietnam and US photographers join exhibition

Six Vietnamese and American photographers are joining in an exhibition named œSeven Stories  to mark the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21).

This is the first time that press photos have been collected into an exhibition. œSeven Stories is seven aspects of life through the lenses of Justin Mott, Justin Maxon from the US and Na Son, Trong Chinh, Lam Khanh and Trong Tung of Vietnam. They bring a fresh perspective on press photos which go beyond the daily events but reach deeper stories sometimes being ignored.

They are photos capturing Can Tho bridge collapse last September by Na Son; street children living under Long Bien Bridge by Lam Khanh; hard work of students for their university entrance exam by Trong Tung and steel workers in Bac Ninh by Trong Chinh.

Justin Mott wants to share with viewers  the pains of children affected by Agent Orange while Justin Maxon told the story of  œLove in Poverty, depicting the life of the woman Mui and her son who live near Long Bien bridge. One of the photos in the collection brought him the Daily Life Singles first prize at the prestigious World Press Photo Contest 2007 (photo).

During the time of exhibition, from June 20-29, an auction will be held at 3pm on June 29 to raise fund for children affected by Agent Orange in Hanoi.

The exhibition is jointly organised by the Maison des Arts and VietImage.
