Internet users busy voting for Ha Long Bay
Photos of Ha Long Bay are appearing frequently on blogs and online forums of Vietnamese people and a campaign to vote for Ha Long Bay as one of the world seven natural wonders has been launched.
The blog of a girl named Minh Le is attracting thousands of viewers who enter to give their comments on Ha Long Bay and read instructions of how to vote for the bay.
œI not only wish that Ha Long Bay will become a world natural wonder but also wish more and more international friends know about Vietnam. I have four email addresses and I have used all of them to vote for Ha Long Bay, Minh Le writes in her blog.
In his blog, Pham Hung writes: œLet vote for Ha Long Bay to honour Vietnam and œLet make Ha Long Bay your avatar so that many people know this wonderful landscape.
The Vietnam Heart online forum is burning with slogans for Ha Long Bay. A member called HoanKiem, the founder of the Vote for Ha Long Bay topic, writes: œWe will vote for the closest things, our hometown. Not only Vietnamese people vote for Vietnamese landscapes but our landscapes will be the 6th or 7th choice of foreign friends.
Thu Ha, another member of the above forum, comments that Vietnam has many more natural heritage sites like Phong Nha-Ke Bang and Nha Trang Bay which need to be named on the list of candidates for the seven world natural wonders.
She says that the young need to have specific action plans to diffuse the images of Ha Long Bay and call for votes at public sites, hotels, foreign embassies. The state also needs to have an advertising campaign for the bay.
Pham Huu Minh, Head of the Tourism Promotion Department of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, applauds young Vietnamese people support for the selection of Ha Long Bay. He also revealed that the ministry would work with Quang Ninh province to launch a campaign to call for votes for this heritage at home and abroad.
