Foreign art troupes registered for Hue Festival 2008

Twenty two art troupes from 16 countries have registered to perform at the June 3-6 Hue Festival 2008.

The Hue Festival 2008 will be held in the former imperial city of Hue under the theme œCultural Heritage with Integration and Development to showcase the cultural values of Hue and Vietnam through hundreds of festive events.

The festival will present a œcoronation ceremony similar to that given to King Quang Trung 220 years ago.

Many unique cultural, communal and royal festivals will be held at the Ho Quyen-Voi Re area for the first time.

Art troupes from France , the UK, the US, Russia, China, the Republic of Korea, Japan, India, and Canada will give music, signing, dance, and circus performances representing the cultural characters of their own nations at the festival.
