First catch of the morning

As a group of men and women pull a fishing net hooked to a boat to shore, a crowd of vacationers stand up from their deck chairs on Mui Ne beach to see what the locals have caught on their morning fishing excursion.

The women and men must stretch and pull the net in harmony in order to catch as many fish as possible. It often takes over an hour for them to collect the net once the boat arrives on the shore. Therefore, guests must wait patiently before they are able to see exactly what the locals have captured in their net.

Most of the time, the fishes are small becalarge fish live in deeper waters further out to sea. When the locals have successfully pulled the net ashore, they sort their catch according to size and type before selling the fish to wholesalers. The scene is enjoyed by both locals and visitors.

The daily ritual of locals gathering fish is one of the many interesting things that guests can watch as they stroll along the pristine beach of Mui Ne in the central province of Binh Thuan.
