US$6,000 for Miss Vietnam coronation gown

At the Venus Soiree organized by Venus Model Company on May 12 in HCM City, the dress Miss Vietnam Mai Phuong Thuy wore on her coronation night was auctioned off for US$6,000.

    Audience members became excited when the final bidder, whose name is Nghia, gave back the dress to Miss Mai Phuong Thuy as a gift, saying œMiss Vietnam did a beautiful thing when she decided to auction off a very meaningful object to her for the sake of the poor.

The Venus Soriee was held for charity purposes with the participation of 100 famous beauty queens, models and singers as well as fashion designers and artists.

An amount of US$9,200 was collected from auctioning clothes and jewelry.
